In October 2017 Mawlana Hazar Imam was conferred with the Most Excellent Order of the Pearl of Africa by His Excellency President Yoweri Museveni during Uganda’s 55th Independence Day celebrations. This is the highest civilian award of the Ugandan Honour System and has only been presented to five other individuals in the history of Uganda. Today, we look back on his Diamond Jubilee visit to Uganda and Tanzania.
