Experiment – Fire Needs Oxygen To Burn by Arhaan Lalani

Fire is a chemical reaction which creates light and heat from oxygen and fuel. A lit candle needs to draw oxygen from the air in order to continue burning. If you limit the amount of air available like I did with the help of different sized glasses, the flame eventually goes out once it uses up all the oxygen. The candle without the glass continues to burn with the oxygen in the air. My experiment proves that fire needs oxygen to burn.
